Dear Nigger,

Hear that you are still cavorting about various stretches of Eastern Australia . I’d give quite a few chips just to set eyes on the South part again right now, although I guess it will be some time yet. At present we are in a somewhat remote part of Lincolnshire (if any part of England can be called remote) learning to fly the mighty Lanc. bom-ber one of which you may have set eyes on a few months ago. A month or so ago the “gen” crew (?) (thats us) got in one trip to the South of France and encountered a smear or two of flak but (lucky for us beginners) no night-fighters.

You’ve probably heard that I met up with Brian over here but we’ve gone our different ways now. He was a course or two ahead of me at O.T.U. and by now will have done quite a few “Ops” I should say. Ally McKinnon is on our present station – one hell of a coincidence what? He’s done one tour and is instructing at present. Can’t get a great deal of news on these jobs but I spose the family keeps you fairly well supplied. I think I mentioned it before but just in case – congrats on the stripes ole boy. Keep’em clanking.
